Bhangar Mahavidyalaya was born in the year 1997, at the turn of the new millennium, out of the aspiration of the people of the locality for an institution of higher education to cater to students of economically and socially backward classes in and around the locality, amongst whom a substantial number happened to be first generation learners. The college has since then through introduction of new academic courses and innovative teaching-learning method has worked dedicatedly towards character building, personality development, leadership and awareness towards gender sensitization and social responsibility.
The college also focuses on inclusive education with committees dedicated to supporting SC/ST, OBC, and minority students. Furthermore, Bhangar Mahavidyalaya has developed various facilities such as a library, laboratory, smart classrooms, and a gym, which are part of its long-term development goals to create a conducive learning environment.
