Students' Council of our college plays a vital role .
Here are some of the key roles and responsibilities:
*Representing Student Interests*
1. Acting as a liaison between students and college administration.
2. Representing students' views, concerns, and opinions on various issues.
3. Providing a platform for students to express themselves and participate in decision-making processes.
*Organizing Events and Activities*
1. Planning and organizing cultural, social, and recreational events, such as Teachers’ day celebration, Induction Programme, fests, cultural events such as Nabin Baran and Ananda Lahari .
2. Promoting student's engagement, participation, and inclusivity.
3. Encouraging student-led initiatives and projects.
Sports and Games:
The Students' Council promotes sports and games among students, encouraging participation and healthy competition. They organize Annual Sports, intra-college and inter-college tournaments, friendly cricket and football matches between teaching and non-teaching staff and students. They also provide constant suppport for students to participate in state and national level competitions, fostering a spirit of excellence and teamwork.
*Supporting Student Welfare*
1. Providing support and guidance on academic, personal, and emotional issues.
2. Addressing student concerns, such as mental health, bullying, and harassment.
3. Collaborating with college authorities to ensure student well-being and safety.
Aid- fund Activities:
The Students' Council manages a benevolent aid fund to provide financial support to students in need. They provide financial assistance to the meritorious students from economically backward background and offer emergency support to students as and when needed. Through this initiative, the Students' Council demonstrates it's commitment to promote inclusivity, equity and student well-being
*Fostering Leadership and Development*
1. Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
2. Encouraging student participation in governance, decision-making, and community service.
3. Supporting student-led projects and initiatives that promote social responsibility and civic engagement.
